Grid-Connect Solar

In a grid-connected system, the solar panels generate high voltage DC power which is fed through an inverter to be converted it into grid-compatible 240V AC power, which is supplied to your switchboard.

If your system produces more power than you can consume, the surplus can be sold to your electricity retailer and fed into the mains power grid.

At night, when the solar cells are not producing power, your electricity is supplied by the mains power grid as usual. The power company charges the typical rate for the electricity you use.

Since a grid-connect system runs in parallel to the grid, solar doesn’t have to provide all of your electricity need. You might want to choose a system that covers a percentage of your electricity based on budget, roof space or a range of other factors.
