Two of our team members went down to Melbourne for the All Energy Exhibition last week. It was an amazing exhibition with hundreds of companies showcasing their newest technology and giving us a glimpse into the future of solar, batteries and electric vehicle charging.

Below are some of our highlights, and technologies that we think will shape the future of our clean energy transition:

Volt Solar Tiles

Despite the many advances in the aesthetics of solar panels including all black panels such as our QCELLS Q.MAXX panel, many people still can’t get past the aesthetics of solar panels.

Enter the Volt Solar Tile.

The Australian team at Volt have engineered a solar tile that integrates into your roof just like a standard roof tile would. It’s brand new to market, so still quite expensive but it is available now. If you’re building a home and are interested in finding out more, you can check out their website: https://www.volt-tile.com/

If pricing can come down with increased volume, this could well be the way that solar is integrated into new homes. Very Exciting! Our congratulations to the team at Volt on the successful release of this product.

SunMan Energy – Stick-On Solar Panels

Yes, you read it right. SunMan Energy have created a solar panel weighing just 7kg that glues onto the roof.

This is a game-changer for the solar industry. In order to reach 95% renewables by 2035 we’re going to need solar just about everywhere. SunMan Energy’s lightweight solar panels means a lot more people can install solar now. Buildings unable to support the weight of a traditional 20kg solar panel, curved rooves – this technology truly means everyone can have solar!

Redback Technologies

The Redback Smart Hybrid has been around for a while now and is still a fantastic option that represents quality backed by their Australian after-sales support team, without paying the earth.

Their recent developments are that you can now install 10kW of panels on their 5kW Hybrid Inverter. Their hybrid inverter can now charge your battery at 4.6kW and create 5kW of AC Power at the same time!

The other great piece of news is that they now have a 3 phase battery that can be retrofitted to any three phase house.

There’s lots of great info about their range on their website: https://redbacktech.com/

Solar Analytics

Solar Analytics is a team of very smart software developers using their skills to help you get more out of your solar system.

For just $40 a year, anyone with a Fronius or GoodWe system and connect their inverter to Solar Analytics to receive all of their features:

  • Performance Monitoring
  • Solar Savings tracker
  • Battery Calculator/Simulator
  • Plan Optimiser – independent advise on which electricity retailer is best for YOU

And in a ground breaking development, if you don’t have a consumption meter (Fronius Smart Meter or GoodWe Homekit) – no problem!

Solar Analytics can now pull your consumption data from your Powercor Meter!

If you’d like to know more about Solar Analytics, check out their website here: https://www.solaranalytics.com.au/

If you’d like us to connect you to a 30 day free trial (no credit card required) get in touch with us and we’ll happily set you up.

We love seeing our customers get more out of their solar.

Solar Carport – S Rack

Last but not least – S Rack have developed a solar carport. If your home or business is unsuitable for solar, or you just need more space – why not put up a solar carport. I personally think it won’t be long until every business has one of these with an electric vehicle charger built in. Why not be an early adopter and show your customers that you’re committed to reducing your CO2 emissions?

What’s more – electric vehicle owners don’t have lots of places to charge at the moment, so you could use this opportunity to attract people to your business by providing them with a place to charge!

If you’re interested in a solution like this, get in touch as we’d love to work with you.
