BATTERY REBATES $2950.00 – ENDING JUNE 30

$2950 Battery Rebate will be ending on June 30th 2023. This means that to claim the $2950 Solar Victoria Battery Rebate, you need to have accepted a quote from us and completed your online rebate application by 6 PM, June 30 2023.

From July 1st there will no longer be battery subsidies available in the form of rebate.
However, an interest free loan of up to $8,800 will be available.

We’ll provide more information about this when we find out more (loan terms etc)

Remember that to claim the battery rebate while you still can, the criteria still applies:

  • Must not have claimed a rebate under the Solar Homes program (includes solar PV rebate)
  • Must have combined household income under $180k per year before tax (for names on rates notice only)

BUSINESS REBATE $3500 – ENDING JUNE 30

This program is scheduled to end on 30 June 2023

A little known fact, but businesses operating from a dedicated business premises are eligible for a $3500 rebate and a $5000 interest free loan (on a 2 year term). This rebate is also ending at the end of the financial year, so as above – get in touch with us ASAP for a free energy audit of your business and if you accept our quote and complete your rebate application by June 30, you’ll still be able to claim this free gift from the government!

Eligibility criteria can be found here, or give our team a call and we’ll help you understand if you’re eligible.

Federal Government Tax Write Offs

Also ending this financial year is the instant asset tax write off up to $150,000. Talk to your accountant, and ask if you can write a solar / battery system off as an instant asset tax write off.

In any case, the federal government has just announced an instant tax write off scheme for next financial year for energy efficiency technology (such as solar, batteries, heat pump hot water etc) up to $20,000.

Solar improves your cashflow by itself, but with these incentives it becomes even more attractive!

HOT WATER REBATES

Hot water rebates of $1,000 will continue to be delivered next year but only 4,500 rebates have been allocated. Our sources are telling us these will be all gone in about 2 months, so if you want to secure your rebate for a heat pump hot water system, be sure to get in touch with us for a quote and complete your application ASAP.

Importantly – You ARE allowed to ‘double dip’ with this rebate. If you have already claimed a PV rebate, you are still eligible to claim this $1000 rebate to upgrade your hot water system.

Also of note, is that if your current hot water system is an electric element unit, you’re eligible for another obscure rebate called VEECS, which you can claim back after the installation. This is worth approximately a further $1000.

SOME GOOD NEWS – SOLAR PV REBATE TO CONTINUE

Solar Panel Rebate value will remain at $1,400 for the rebate with an additional (optional) $1,400 for the interest free loan. Note also that this rebate was recently amended to allow homes under construction to be approved for the rebate, so if you’re building or about to build a home, get in touch with us and we can talk about solar for your home.

While I’m here talking new builds – if your home is 2 storey or you want solar on your shed, it’s very important to discuss these things with us before construction begins (or as soon as possible)

That’s all for now, I hope this has been a helpful update.

As always, feel free to reach out to us for more information – we’re here to help
